Coming to Toccoa? There’s Lots To Do.

Amtrak Station in Toccoa Georgia

Tanya and I are so glad that you’ve chosen the Simmons-Bond Inn Bed & Breakfast for your stay in Toccoa. Maybe you’re here on business, a romantic weekend, or just taking a short getaway in the north Georgia mountains. In any case, there’s lots to see and do once you get here.

Did you know that there’s a fantastic antique market just a quick walk from the Inn? The Whistle Stop Antique Mall boasts three floors of wonderful moments in time and history. Browse dozens of booths of clothing, furniture, china, knick-knacks and so much more. You’ll be amazed at what you come home with!

For train watchers, the Amtrak station is just two blocks to the south adjacent to the Welcome Center. This spring will herald the construction of a brand new viewing platform at the station. The Amtrak Crescent Line makes two daily stops in Toccoa, and numerous freight trains pass by too.

Only a one-mile drive from the Inn is Toccoa Falls on the campus of Toccoa Falls College. Taller than Niagara, the tranquil setting of the Falls is a peaceful retreat for photos, nature watching, and spiritual contemplation.

Dining is great in downtown Toccoa with several family-owned restaurants to choose from. Within walking distance you’ll find the X-Factor Cornerstone Grill, BJ’s Family Restaurant, and several ice cream and coffee shops. Drive a few minutes and choose from sit-down restaurants and cafes to fast food stops on Big A Road.

And don’t forget the Currahee Military Museum at the Toccoa Welcome Center. Hundreds of exhibits from WW II, Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, and Iraqi wars are on display. Go back with the Band of Brothers as they train at Camp Toccoa; explore the lives of the soldiers who fought for our freedoms. There’s also a big surprise waiting inside!

Toccoa is a beautiful, friendly, exciting stop on your visit to the north Georgia mountains, and the Simmons-Bond Inn Bed & Breakfast is so happy to welcome you to our wonderful city. After you’ve explored some of what we have to offer, sit back and relax on our wrap-around porch, and enjoy the grace of our small piece of heaven.
