Ida Cox Concert Series in Downtown Toccoa

IDA Cox music series every saturday night in downtown Toccoa, Georgia

June is fast approaching, and one of the most exciting events in downtown Toccoa is the Ida Cox Music Concert Series.

Named after the legendary "Uncrowned Queen of Blues" and Toccoan native, the Ida Cox Music Series celebrates the best that Toccoa has to offer: A love of music, a celebration of diversity, and a whole lot of talent. The series is named for Ida Cox, who was born Ida Prather in Toccoa before going off to make her mark in the music world in the first part of the 20th century. She started as a vaudeville performer and was one of the pioneers of the blues genre of music.

The Music Series was created by Main Street Toccoa to fill a need for quality local musical entertainment. The weekly Saturday concerts are free and feature an opening act and a headline act from 7 until 10 p.m. in downtown Toccoa on Doyle Street from Sage Street to Pond Street with a wide variety of music. A different musical genre is featured each week.

The Series features some of the best artists that the Southeast has to offer, including some big names that you may have heard of and some new names that are sure to knock your socks off! This year’s artists include:

Toccoa Jazz; Randall Bramblett; Split Shot; Swingin’ Saddle Cats; Tribute (Allman Brothers Cover Band); Radford Windham & Step Back Cadillac; Tugalo Holler; The Wobblers; Hunter Callahan; ThunderGypsy; Shoal Creek Bluegrass Band; Milkshake Mayfield; Reverend Tribble & The Deacons

The 2018 Ida Cox Music Series takes place every Saturday in June, July, and August, beginning at 7pm. Each Saturday features a different artist, beer, wine, and food served on the street, and much more. And don’t forget to bring a lawn chair!
