It’s been a while since my last blog post and yes, we’re all still here at the Simmons-Bond Inn Bed & Breakfast. Springtime is not only the beginning of our busy season but also the start of maintenance and other projects at the Inn. Naturally, that keeps us all on our toes with our guests and taking care of the property.
We started the month with several parties and events: the whole house was booked by the family of a wedding party, a group of visitor center representatives from around north Georgia enjoyed a delicious three-course brunch, and eleven ladies celebrating their sorority reunion had a wonderful, catered dinner in our dining room. And this was all in the same day!
Springtime in Toccoa, GA also brings the start to many local festivals and events. The Historic Ritz Theatre is showing weekly popular movies for only $1.00 admission and $1.00 concessions. That’s a deal you simply can’t beat. The “Night at the Museums” event will be June 28th, where you can visit three different local museums and watch “Night at the Museum, Battle of the Smithsonian” at The Historic Ritz Theatre, all for only $10. The Toast of Toccoa was a huge success on May 4th, despite a bit of rain late in the day. The Ida Cox Music Festival kicks off soon with a different band and musical style each Saturday throughout the summer. This is a free concert held outside in downtown Toccoa. 2nd Annual Car Show at Miles Through Time Automotive Museum on June 22nd. And races almost every weekend at Toccoa Raceway.
With so much going on, booking a few days at the Simmons-Bond Inn Bed & Breakfast is a great way to get away and enjoy the festivities. And we’re within walking distance of almost everything going on.
With the grass greening, the flowers blooming, and the birds singing away, the Simmons-Bond Inn is a great place to take in all that springtime has to offer. Tanya’s amazing homemade breakfasts are hot out of the oven and the old-world charm of the 116-year-old Victorian home is waiting to take you back in time for a relaxing stay.
